Episode 12: “Taken 2: Electric Boogaloo and Video Pitches…”

Hey Everyone!

Another week and another show.  Cheryl and I are back and sounding sexier than ever with our new mic!  Ooohhhh the Blue Yeti…we love you so.

In this week’s show, Cheryl rails on Liam Neeson and then we rail on some video pitches.  Not really rail…more like…softly negotiate the winter of our discontent.

When we get into the video pitch discussion, we chat about Adam’s pitch which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Zs63sgUKY&feature=youtu.be

Don’t watch it now!  What’s the point?  Wait till we get there then pause the show and come back!

Hey, by the way, speaking of the show…guess what?  We’re in iTunes now.  That’s right, we’re all official.  You can find the show here:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/breakin-in!/id571381405

or by searching for Breakin’ In.  PLEASE subscribe cause it really helps us out!

Okay, off to the show!

  1. Excellent feedback on my pitch! You two addressed all of the issues I was wondering about (and then some)!

I am so happy to hear all the emphasis about keeping things short, because I have a four sentence pitch for the new “high concept comedy” (to use the phrase I learned from “Menaissance”) I’m working on that I think is really great (that is, to me you can’t help but laugh and think “I gotta see that”), but up until now I have been thinking that at some point I’ll have have to come up with a much longer pitch.

I guess I have always thought of a pitch as kind of a mini-synopsis. Thanks for reminding me that the point is to make the person you are pitching to want to read the screenplay!
